Peer Review Process

The Journal of Dalian University of Technology (JDUT) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of scholarly publishing through a rigorous, transparent, and impartial peer review process. We employ a double-blind review system, in which both the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed to eliminate potential bias and ensure objective evaluation.

Review Workflow:

  1. Initial Editorial Screening:
Each manuscript is first evaluated by the editorial office to ensure alignment with the journal’s scope, formatting standards, and ethical compliance. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s basic criteria may be returned without external review.
  2. Reviewer Assignment:
Submissions passing the initial check are assigned to two or more subject matter experts from our international pool of reviewers. Reviewers are selected based on expertise, academic reputation, and prior performance.
  3. Double-Blind Evaluation:
Reviewers assess the manuscript’s originality, methodological rigor, scientific relevance, clarity, and contribution to the field. They may recommend:
  4. Author Revisions:
Based on reviewers’ feedback, authors may be requested to revise and resubmit their manuscripts. A detailed response-to-reviewer document is encouraged to ensure a smooth and clear revision process.
  5. Final Decision:
The Editor-in-Chief or a designated Section Editor makes the final publication decision, taking into account reviewers’ recommendations and the revised manuscript quality.

Post-Acceptance Checks:
Accepted manuscripts undergo plagiarism checks, formatting corrections, and DOI assignment before being scheduled for publication.

Integrity & Confidentiality:

  • All reviews are conducted confidentially.
  • Reviewers must disclose conflicts of interest, if any.
  • Plagiarism and ethical misconduct are handled according to COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.
